Robin, one of my best friends back in Rockford, Ill., sent me this shirt last year for my sole Christmas in Waco (not quite a winter wonderland, but close).Poffertjes -- for the record -- are Dutch pancakes; and the shirt's correct: pancakes do, indeed, make my day. Pancakes were always on the menu when Robin and I would meet up at greasy spoons, truck-stop diners and Denny's. Pancakes also are my specialty in the kitchen (check out my cooking blog for confirmation), and "Pancake" is among my 26 nicknames. Anyway, I will wear this shirt until it's just a couple of threads. It reminds me of some great memories with an equally great friend.
