While driving to college I took a different route yesterday and discovered this wonderful artistic space known as Texas Sculpture Garden. This is the private collection of businessman Craig Hall and he has had the open mind to let public enjoy this art free of cost. The open air exhibit features works of 41 prominent Texas artists and has been installed in and around a part of commercial district of Frisco, Hall Office Park. Of course the works of sculptors from across the world are installed all over the park. In total there are over 100 beautiful artworks.

The Sanatana Dharma Foundation, Dallas, Tx has put together this wonderful evening of soft devotional music to move your soul towards spirituality and God. The program scheduled for November 16, 2008 features Sharad Gupta, a singer whose talent lies in rendering soul soothing melodies, specially Bhajans or songs which express devotion and praise the Lord. Here I would like to say something about Sharad Gupta, I met him couple of weeks ago while he was on the verge of performing at the DFW Diwali Mela 2008. Sharad is one of those super-talented, extremely humble and down-to-earth individuals.

The onset of spring has ensured that even the smallest weeds and plants give forth most colourful blossoms. And Carrollton being such a green and environment friendly community is a haven for wild flowers native to Texas. Today as we walked around our neighborhood I chanced upon these colourful flowers which add beauty to the otherwise manicured and quite boring green lawns, which are mowed even on pavements/ sidewalks.

Holi the festival of colours was celebrated in Dallas today. The premises of the DFW Hindu Temple, Irving was a riot of colour as hundreds of Desis congregated at the venue. I would summarise the event as "Colour, chow, charm, carol* singing, riotous dancing, and loads and loads of laughter and fun". (more)
