It may be a while before I’m the mom you see dragging her wailing kid out of the store (I just know it’s my fate to have perpetually screaming children) but that doesn’t mean I’m not trying to prepare for the future.

This week, I learned about getting ready for the first day of school from a person who knows a lot about it –MOM. The MOM of the My Name is MOM blog on neighborsgo.com, Michelle White, who gave me some great tips. She started out by telling me about ways to survive the unofficial back-to-school kick-off, tax-free weekend. Here’s a few of her ideas:

They say to make an omelet, you have to break eggs.

That I can handle. I have no problems with that. The difficulty comes when I try to cook the darn thing.

It’s the thrill of the hunt, really. I could do without the pointy-toed alligator shoes, the set of monogrammed napkins, the bright red candelabra. (Don’t tell my husband that.)
