Normally, I wake up every morning and read from those who have donated their Facebook statuses to the number of Qassam rockets fired each day.  

But this morning, I woke up to read on the news that at 2 am Israel announced a unilateral ceasefire in the Palestinian territory of Gaza. I read on. Only seven hours after the ceasefire was announced at least six rockets were fired yet again into Sderot, ending the ephemeral armistice.

I have officially been living here for three months, and as you can imagine, so much has already happened! I arrived on Young Judaea’s Year Course Program eager as well as nervous. 500 Americans, Canadians, and British eighteen year olds landed to begin a year of the unexpected, a year of growth, and a year of change.
