A family baking its way out of a financial crisis. Adorable
identical triplets. A middle-school student who scaled Mount
Kilimanjaro.
These are just a few of the remarkable people I have met or
learned about during my first year as editor of Lewisville/Flower Mound neighborsgo.
Looking over the stack of issues that piles ever higher on
my desk, I am amazed at how fortunate I am to be able to help share these
wonderful stories — from a wonderful community.
Here are a few of the stories that were especially
meaningful to me this year.
• Rising Above: Family beset by hardships bakes together to
battle tough times
• Seeing Threes:
Family celebrates identical triplets, and Three at 1:
Town’s triplets still fun, lots of work (update)
• Top of the
World:Flower Mound middle-schooler
climbs Mount Kilimanjaro
• More Than a
Game: Lady Farmers, Jags rivalry takes back seat for sake of sick player
• Restore &
More: Church project a chance to revive building, nurture friendship
• Princess Meg:
Four-year-old encourages others while battling leukemia
Nearly all of these started on our site, neighborsgo.com,
whether in story form or as a bit of information that developed into something
more.
Do you have a story to tell? Some special photographs to
share? Post them on neighborsgo.com. I’d love to start compiling my list of
favorite stories for my second anniversary.
For now, thanks for a great year and happy reading!

Press Conference
The Flower Mound Public Library’s Working with the Press
Workshop went splendidly, and I had a great time talking about neighborsgo and mingling with community
members.
One of the best parts was meeting regular contributors Janet Mitchell and Nancy Thorne in person. I also made some new friends whom I hope to
see stories from soon.
