What’s the best advice you’ve received and from whom?
The best advice I’ve received is to stay focused on God and what He has planned in my life and what His purpose is for me. My youth pastor, Carlos Ortiz, has encouraged me to do this throughout my life in his ministry.
If your high school career were a song, what would it be and why?
“Prodigal,” by the Michael Gungor Band, because it demonstrates how we are still forgiven by God no matter what we’ve done because nothing compares to what He’s already done for us.
What are you looking forward to most at college (and which college)?
I have been looking forward to going to Texas Tech all my life, and it’s finally here. I look forward to playing in the marching band, playing for the baseball team and acquiring knowledge in the fields of business management and mass communications.
If your high school mascot fought your college mascot, who would win?
I think my two high school mascots (tiger and eagle) combined could not out-smart the masked rider for Texas Tech. The Red Raider would come out victorious.
How will you change the world?
I hope to influence people one person at a time. That includes witnessing to others about God and spreading my soon-to-be business logic.
Are you friends with your parents on Facebook?
Yes my mom is my friend, but my dad does not have an account because of his lack of interest in Facebook.
