The storm of June eleventh brought more than rain, with it also came destructive lightening. Worse than multiple power outages and downed trees, were the complete losses several Rockwall neighbors experienced due to house fires. An empty Rockwall house was reported by the news to have been struck this day, but overlooked by the media was the occupied High Point Ranch home which also succumbed to an early morning lightening strike.
With McClendon-Chisholm, Royse City, and Fate Fire and Rescue all on the scene at 1310 Eagle Pass, the fire took most of the day to extinguish and the home was a complete loss, displacing the family of 5. While the other family pets were lost, the firefighters were able to rescue the 4 dogs and Harley-Davidson.
