Girl Scouts Having a Great Time at Summer Camp!

0 Ratings / 1 Comment

Some Carrollton Girl Scouts had a great time participating in the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas camp program this summer.

Ellie Ebanks and Jessica Witherow attended the "Trailblazers" camp at Bette Perot's Tree house cabins.  They enjoyed a week of horse riding on advanced trails, and even helped map out a new trail for other campers to use.

Michaela Fruci and Katie Young had fun at the "English Enthusiasts" camp at Bette Perot's Laird West cabin.  The girls learned about English horse riding.

Ellie, Jessica, Michaela and Katie are all in Girl Scout Troop 795.  They will be in the 6th grade this fall.  They attend different schools.

Leslie Short from Girl Scout troop 133 signed up for the "Horsin Around" camp at Bette Perot's Horseshoe Hollow cabins.  This session is great for new riders.  The girls improved their ground and mounting skills during the week and also learned how to groom and saddle the horses.  Leslie attends Homestead Elementary school.  She will be in the 5th grade this fall.

Girl Scout Camp Bette Perot is located in Palestine, Texas.  The camp ground offers great horse riding and other camp activities too, like swimming at the camp pool, archery, hiking and much more.

Sydney Jones jumped on a bus and traveled to Girl Scout Camp Gambill in Sumner for some fun lake activities.  She slept in the "Sleepy Unit" cabins.  Sydney is in Girl Scout troop 85 and will be in the 4th grade at Hebron Valley Elementary this fall.

Maddie Ebanks decided to stay close to home and attended the "Friendship Circle" day camp at Girl Scout Camp Whispering Cedars in Dallas.  She made lots of friends and loved her camp counselors.  Her favorite activity was hiking all around the camp ground.  Cooling off at the camp pool afterwards was great.  Maddie is in troop 24 and will be in 4th grade at Davis Elementary this fall.

Other Girl Scouts enjoyed summer resident camping at Camp Rocky Point at Lake Texoma for some water activities.  Girl Scout Day Camp programs took place all around the Northeast Texas area so girls could enjoy camp close to home too.
