For frequent neighborsgo readers, seeing Plagens awarded this honor comes as no surprise. Since the launch of neighborsgo nearly three years ago, Plagens has submitted countless stories and photos about the organizations she’s involved in, and the causes she believes in. She dedicates her time, energy and resources to our community, and doesn’t stop there. She makes sure that our hometown events, big and small – as well as the people involved in making them happen – are highlighted on neighborsgo.com and in our print edition.

Plagens is a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.She is also co-president of the Rockwall County Historical Foundation, a charter member of the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation, RISD school board secretary, president of Friends of the Library, a Charter Grandparents Century Club member of the RISD Education Foundation, and the communications chairperson for Rockwall Area Retired Teachers. She is a member of Friday Study Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Rockwall Juvenile Board, the Rockwall Literary Club, Reinhardt Elementary PTA, Rockwall Noon Lions Club, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, and the Rockwall County Republicans.
