Local firefighter battling cancer
This is Tim Riffe and his wife Renee, sons Travis, age 12, Josh, age 8, and Ashley, age 5. Tim has Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. Tim is a 14 year Captain with the Duncanville Fire Department. Just a few weeks ago, he was informed of his dire situation and the long battle ahead of him. Tim is well known and liked by everyone in the fire service that has had the privilege of knowing him. Naturally, we are concerned and are supporting him in every way possible.
He can surely use your prayers
There are several fundraising efforts on the horizon. Our first fundraising effort is on April 12th.Kramer Games has chosen Tim to be its “charitable recipient” for this event. Kramer Games is a 1 day sporting event that includes 4 different sports. 36 teams comprised of 4 players each participate in 1) a Softball Homerun Derby, 2) a Basketball 3-point Shootout, 3) a 4 man Golf Scramble, and 4) a No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker Tournament. Each event will award a prize for the top participant and an overall Team Championship Winner as well. There are two ways that you can participate and thereby support Tim in his cancer battle.1- You can enter a team in the Kramer Game event on April 12th, or 2- You can become a hole sponsor in the Golf Tournament. The cost to enter a 4 man team into the Kramer Games is $500. That’s only $125 per player for an all day sporting extravaganza. Full hole sponsorships cost $100-$500. A full sponsorship will get you a sign prominently displayed on a tee box of the golf tournament. $500+ will get you a larger sign or your company banner prominently displayed. Naturally, we will also accept partial sponsorships. You can visit www.kramergames.com for more info and details about this event. You can even sign up your team and pay on the website.
