Last Tuesday, the Castro family graciously gave up their seats in the Idol audience so that four of their closest friends could have a front row view. Carol and Mike McMillan of Rockwall, and their two daughters, (you know these folks from this watch party video) traveled to Hollywood and arrived at CBS where Idol is filmed, and checked in along with the contestant's family members and guests.
"We were seated in the front row on the side that the judges and contestants entered in. We got to speak to and shake hands with all of the judges and several of the Idol contestants! My girls had a blast!" Carol told me.
She added, "Paula got it right! It was one of Jason's best performances! He really seemed to be in his comfort zone. He told us later that two of the other male contestants wanted to do the song that he did, Travelin' Thru. One of the guys ended up deciding to go with another song. Jason and the other top four male had to draw for the song. Jason said he lucked out and got it!"
It was meant to be.
The McMillans are back at home in Rockwall now, preparing for next week's watch party at the Hilton Bella Harbor. Join us, and enjoy performances by the final eight: Jason Castro, David Archuleta, David Cook, Carly Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White, Michael Johns and Syesha Mercado.
